In my opinion, in order to successfully accomplish the studies and achieve the best results in the exams, it is necessary to not only spend a lot of time on practicing but also make your free moments meaningful. Although I am lacking my free time, I am working on self-improving hobbies (attending swimming lessons at least once a week to stay fit; I play the piano at least once a week which employs both hemispheres of the brain; and visit the theatre). So far the scholarship has been extremely helpful in covering daily spending, including, copying and buying study materials, food, living and public transport costs, since I often visit my family outside Riga and these moments with the closest people are very important for me. The scholarship has provided me a stepping stone to start an independent life, because since I mostly spend my time on studies in order to become a professional in my field, combining my studies with work is not possible at the moment, nevertheless I have decided not to bother my parents, and pay the bills by myself. Since I am a first-year student and this scholarship is developed for students like me, previously I could not even realize how to live by my own and take care of everything by myself. This scholarship is a support and a basis for starting a student life. I believe that in the future plenty of young students will feel the same as I did when I took my first steps in the university. I thank to the patron Vaira Inta Pelekis-Christopher.
